This paper reexamines the speed of light through moving media, inspired by user-provided diagrams depicting light propagation altered by matter in motion. Departing from vacuum invariance, we derive a framework where effective light speed v=cn+u(1-1n2) emerges, matching Fizeau's 1851 observations without full aether drag. Implications challenge simplistic Galilean addition, suggesting partial entrainment in dense frames, with applications to modern interferometry and propulsion concepts.
